Stompin' Tom's 'Bud the Spud' to be made available digitally on Canada Day

TORONTO - Stompin' Tom's classic disc "Bud The Spud" is being made available digitally for the first time.

The disc is one of five EMI-issued releases that will be sold through iTunes for the first time starting on Canada Day. EMI says the albums "Fiddle & Song," "Ode For The Road," "My Stompin Grounds" and "Live At The Horseshoe" will also be available starting Tuesday.

More of Connors' catalogue is expected to be released digitally over the next few months.

Connors, who has a new album coming out later this year, recently performed on the NHL Awards and will be honoured with his own stamp next year.

His best-known hits include "Sudbury Saturday Night" and "The "Hockey Song."
