John Mayer: 'Legitimize The Paparazzi'

John Mayer is felicitous for his photo to be taken by the paparazzi -- as long there is regulation on how the shutterbugs take themselves.

Jennifer Aniston's crooner swell made his argument at a hearing about the matter at L.A. City Hall Thursday.

"I don't posture before you today to ask that you ban the paparazzi," Mayer, 30, explained. "I'm asking you to baffle it. Officialize it. Tax it. Legitimize it.

"I don't want to beg the city of Los Angeles to give me 1987 back," he said. "I love being a famed musician in 2008... This is about safety."

The isaac Bashevis Singer suggested the requirement of photographer credentials, marked cars for photographers and a "law government an acceptable filming distance from an unwilling subject [to maintain] everybody safe and misbehaviour accountable."

The 30-year-old concluded: "Regulating the paparazzi won't bring an ending to contemporary media coverage, just as the freshly enforced hands-free law hasn't stopped multitude from talk on cell phones piece they drive."

Runaway Train actor Eric Roberts and Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia were also scheduled to speak at the hearing.

LAPD Chief William J. Bratton called out celebrities for making a big deal of how paparazzi conduct themselves.

He told KNBC-TV Thursday, "If you notice, since Britney started wearing away clothes and behaving; Paris is out of town not bothering anybody, give thanks God; and, evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone merry, we don't seem to have practically of an issue.

"So as far as all this grandstanding and foolishness, ware of city time on this upshot and the fact that I felt aggravated enough approximately it to interrupt my workout to come over and plant the record straight, LAPD has no intention of participating in this farce."

"They act like a pack of wolves, stalking their prey," Councilman Dennis Zine said. "What we're trying to do is keep a tragedy from natural event."

The 22-year-old actress, whose big break came when she starred in the 2007 film Transformers, insists she was unpopular at school - and found it difficult to befriend any of her female classmates.

She says, "At school I was not ever - for a second - popular. I mean never. Everyone hated me and I was a total outcast.

"My friends were always guys. I have a very aggressive personality and girls didn't like me for that."

Grazianos to Hulk -- You Just Sit and Spin

The family of John Graziano is telling Hulk Hogan where to stick his "God's will" when it comes to the Hulk's ridiculous appearance on Larry King's show the other night.

Yesterday, through their lawyers, the Grazianos said that whatever Hulk had to say about John and Nick was just a bunch of fake boo-hooing: "No matter how he tried to spin it, no matter how he tried to cry at the end," says George Tragos. "It wasn't going to change people's minds."

Not only that, they're P.O.'d because they weren't given the chance by King to come on the show and respond to Hulk's hooey.

Friend believes Ledger was anxious

A close friend of the late Australian actor Heath Ledger has said that he was anxious over the Christmas holidays about not seeing enough of his two-year-old daughter and his split with actress Michelle Williams.
The 28-year-old actor was found dead at his New York apartment on Tuesday; results of an autopsy conducted yesterday were inconclusive.
Reuters reports that in an interview with the West Australian newspaper, model Sophie Ward said that Ledger was worried about his split with actress Michelle Williams and their daughter Matilda during his Christmas holidays at home in Perth.
During the interview, Ward said: "We went to the movies and just did normal stuff... but he was a bit edgy. He couldn't really relax."
She continued: "He said he was going to London but was quite upset because he couldn't see his daughter as much as he'd like to. He was travelling so much and I think he was just frustrated with it all."
"He was clean and wasn't drinking any alcohol or taking drugs," said the model.
She added: "He smoked cigarettes, but that's about it. He was drinking diet Coke when we were together and he said he was very committed to not drinking alcohol. I don't believe he took his own life deliberately."
Police are treating Ledger's death as possibly drug-related and said sleeping pills were found close to his body.
But a spokeswoman for the medical examiner's office said on Wednesday that an autopsy had proved inconclusive and further tests were needed - which could take around 10 days.
The West Australian newspaper says that before Ledger returned to the US from Perth, he left a message with the film editor of the newspaper, thanking the media for leaving him alone.
He said: "I don't know whether it's a conscious thing or an unconscious thing, giving me space and respecting my privacy. It's just been awesome."
He continued: "I've had the most beautiful time back here and being able to see all my friends and family ... It's really enabled me to be a boy again from home and feel like I'd never left. It's truly been an incredibly therapeutic and a much-needed trip home..."

MIA cancels UK tour

MIA has cancelled her forthcoming tour of the UK, and made the announcement while performing at the MoMA in New York last night (June 9).

She mentioned the cancellation during her performance at McCarren Pool in Brooklyn on Friday night, and confirmed the tour is off before her set last night at MoMA??s 40th annual benefit ??Party in the Garden??.

??This is my last show. I cancelled the UK tour. Nobody knows. This is it. You??re hearing it first. My manager was supposed to cancel it yesterday, but he was watching football ?? don??t tell anyone ?? and he forgot. So nobody knows. I guess now they will,? she told New York Magazine.

??I??m canceling because I feel like physically I just have to stop for a second. It??s too insane. I was losing a sense of just, like, reality, you know what I mean? I think for an artist like me, it??s so important for me to be in the streets and go to the same shop every day and see the same people and, like, communicate. And it??s really difficult to do that when you??re in the city every day for 24 hours. Like, I love connecting with my band, but I want to actually help them and be a part of peoples?? lives. Which is really hard when you??re on tour.?

And she says she will be using the time to put out a new album:

??I??ve been writing on tour. I??m really into writing new songs. I??m going to put out a new record instead. At the end of the day, I??m here, you know.?
